Job Summary:
Acts as the lead for specific areas of analysis related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications.
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.
Instructs, directs, supports, and provides technical guidance to other business systems analysts, contractors, and consultants, as necessary.
  • The Systems Analyst Lead works directly on the Human Resources systems, acting as a skilled analyst in at least one or more of the following modules: Payroll, Timekeeping, and Compensation. Experience in utilizing PeopleSoft HCM, and/or experience in a cloud based solutions including a solid understanding of integrations is a plus.
  • You will partner with the HR Information Systems team, Office of Human Resources, the community, and assigned committees to secure business requirements for specific complex IT projects. You will conduct needs assessments, build business requirements & project plans, develop and implement testing for the implementation of the assigned projects, enhancements, and production support tickets. Responsibilities will include working with the key HR functional users and the community in the collection, analysis, and identification of data needed for the project.
  • You will mentor and lead a team of three system analysts of which each of the staff will be working on production support issues and running multiple IT projects throughout the year. You will evaluate, write and deliver annual performance reviews of your direct reports; including quarterly check-ins. You will also be responsible for onboarding any new employees and cross train existing employees where necessary.
  • Our ideal candidate will have experience running large IT projects, solid project management, customer service, and leadership skills. We are looking for a team member who has excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to interact with other key players on implementation teams, and be engaged with the HR business needs.
Specific Responsibilities:
Functional Documentation, Iterative and Incremental Development, Workflow Development and Documentation
Kronos, PeopleSoft HRMS (FASIS)

  • Reviews and verifies that documentation of training materials, process, procedures and system/application is accurate.
  • Identifies implementation dependencies and constraints; ensures these are addressed.
  • Leads project resources to ensure that tasks are completed on schedule and that issues, risks and variances are mitigated in a timely manner.
  • Leads test script execution both internally and cross functionally between systems and departments; performs detailed testing to ensure that the implemented software functions correctly.
  • Manages iterative feedback processes among users, developers, and analysts to ensure software functionality aligns with requirements. Granted authority to make decisions based on knowledge of interdependency between systems and business processes.
Technical Support
  • Leads technical, reporting and application resources to analyze and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Solicits feedback from users on application performance and escalates critical performance issues with technical resources and management. Granted authority to make decisions on solution approach based on in-depth system knowledge and best practices.
Human Resources /Supervision
  • Leads work direction and/or staff such as team members, subordinates, contractors, vendors, students, etc.
  • Recommends staff hires/terminations. Writes position descriptions; leads recruiting process.
  • Coaches and mentors staff.
  • Manages complex projects ensuring timelines, deliverables and expectations are met.
Strategic Planning
  • Manages and influences school, department, and core office representatives to ensure that user requirements are met, all gaps are documented, and all deliverables approved (adhering to approved methodology and documentation standards).
  • Leads a team ensuring the proper installation, configuration, and functioning of enterprise systems. Also manages knowledge transfer of contractors to staff at project completion.
  • Contributes to defining methodology and documentation standards, and periodically reviewing them to integrate appropriate industry practices.
  • Represents organizational area in regard to advisory groups, planning committees, and similar standing work groups whose purpose is to develop requirements related to the implementation of enterprise business systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • 6 or more years of relevant experience.
