Position: Director of Analytics
Location: Chicago, IL Type: Direct-Hire/Permanent Start: ASAP In this role, you can expect to: • Build and lead a team of engaged analysts and data scientists that can support the business with insights • Collaborate with the executive team to craft a strategy, framework, and roadmap for analysis, reporting, and data science • Partner with engineering to select and own technologies for reporting, A/B testing, computation infrastructure, and the development of data products used by the business and customers • Design, build and maintain analytical models used to support the business including, forecasting, customer engagement, and retention models, as well as recommender systems • Communicate with executives and key stakeholders through presentations, well-designed data visualizations, and interactive dashboards You're a great fit for this role if: • You are excited to be a champion for analytics and data science by working with leadership from all departments to instill and develop a data centric culture • You have experience with a two-sided marketplace and find new analytic challenges and opportunities presented in the gig economy space to be very compelling • You possess strong communication skills, enjoy working with people and have experience managing a team • You enjoy teaching others about data science and helping team members understand how and when to implement various machine learning models • You are proficient in at least one scripting language, possess a strong understanding of statistical modeling, and are fluent in SQL/NoSQL • You are an action-oriented leader you can strategize, teach and drive change but you are also known for rolling up your sleeves and tackling day-to-day analytic needs • You have a strong technical background and experience using Google Analytics and Segment.io Requirements • 5+ years of demonstrated success in data science or analytics • 3+ years of mentorship or management experience • MS in a quantitative discipline (computer science, statistics, engineering, operations research, mathematics, etc.) • Familiarity with relational databases and experience with scripting languages that support data manipulation and reporting automation (R or Python preferred) • Proficiency in SQL with strong Excel skills • Experience creating data visualizations and interactive dashboards (Tableau preferred) | ||||||||
