Position: Mobile QA Technician
Location: Chicago, IL (1st couple of days in Oak Brook location)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract (likely extension)
Start: Immediate

  • Execute tests and processes within an Agile Scrum framework
  • Responsible for review and development of test cases, testing, test tools and test plans
  • Support the MyQ QA team's pursuit of quality assurance best practices
  • Write QA task plans, documents and communications supporting the QA Team Lead and Team Manager
  • Submit defects (bug) along with tracking, reporting, and re-testing of defects using JIRA
  • Participates in daily scrum meetings and program reviews throughout the project lifecycle. Including meetings with extended project staff/analysts to discuss benefits of testing, clarify requirements and to otherwise assist in the delivery of the new roadmap/functional projects
  • Researches tools and standards which can improve MyQ testing
  • Continuously improves and revises testing standards, processes, methodologies, and documentation
  • Collaborate with Engineering Test Lab team members on combined hardware-software testing projects.
  • Expand the amount of test automation for regression test execution utilizing Microsoft Test Framework
  • Other duties as assigned, i.e. involved in cross-company activities to drive innovation and QA adoption
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in conducting QA testing on for websites and mobile phone applications
  • Experience working in Scrum team and familiar with sprint planning, ticket management, demos, retrospectives, burndown chart tracking.
  • Experience working to support consumer-facing products with a strong engineering and/or IT service level component
  • Willing to take ownership of software quality and be occasionally available off hours in case of incidents and disruptions which require immediate testing support
  • Willing to "roll up the sleeves” and work with the team to continuously improve software quality
  • Interaction and collaboration with outside 3rd-party IT and design partners who are providing solutions (software, staff, etc.) to MyQ projects
  • Preparing audience appropriate communications (project status, email, presentations, etc.) by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong relationship management skills working with both internal and external partners/ vendors/ teams
  • Technical skills include an understanding of basic application development, network, infrastructure, storage management, security best practices, database management
  • Able to effectively analyze unexpected problems by locating patterns in the data and underlying causes
  • Experience working in environments with off-shore or near-shore capabilities and resources
  • Attention to detail, quality, responsiveness, and efficiency.
  • Fluent in MS Office Tools, including Project and Visio
