Duration: 4-6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Rate: DOE

  • Administration, installation, maintenance of the Rowan University security surveillance platform and support of physical security initiatives.
  • Vulnerability scanning, analysis and remediation coordination utilizing standard industry tools
  • Review the results from security scans, documents and coordinates remediation of findings
  • Monitor, identify, investigate, and resolve issues related to security breaches, unauthorized access, or potential security risks.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures with a focus on security
  •  All applicants must have the following qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent education.  Years of experience may be substituted for education on a year by year basis
  • Demonstrated experience with industry standard security tools such as Nessus, Snort, nmap, etc
  • Understanding of industry best practices surrounding proper maintenance and support of a 24x7 infrastructure
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical issues and offer solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional business demeanor
  • Ability to write logical and comprehensible procedures and forms.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills for communicating to management, Internal Audit, user community, and security violators.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of IP based surveillance and card access systems
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practices regarding Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).   Experience with Splunk is desired.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux and VMWare operating environments with related configuration and management toolsets.
  • Technical expertise in systems administration of security tools (e.g. antivirus, patching, web content filtering, data loss prevention) combined with an understanding of security best-practices and procedures.
  • Ability to use detailed knowledge of Microsoft and Linux systems to effectively troubleshoot system level issues.
  • Ability to work in an enterprise environment and function as a technical contributor among a large team of peers and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to communicate and work with customers without supervision and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to express to our users' technical information in a non-technical manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of surveillance system installation, administration and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of intrusion detection, security system scanning, password auditing, network based and Web application based vulnerability scanning is desired as well.
  • Extensive knowledge of Splunk administration and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of the Tenable suite of security tools
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Engineer (GSEC), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or similar industry certification.
