Job Brief:
We are looking for full-stack Ruby on Rails developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements into the application. An understanding of front-end coding languages, innovative design and layout of websites and web applications is important. You will assist in the maintenance of our current websites and web applications and additionally may be required to build websites from concept all the way to completion, including site layout, user interface and function.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
  • Create site layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS/JavaScript languages
  • Integration of data storage solutions primarily in AWS and SQL
  • Integration of user-facing elements with server side logic
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Create and maintain software documentation
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends

Requirements/Skills
  • 3+ years professional experience building websites and web applications
  • Degree in informatics or computer science
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries
  • Advanced understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Deep expertise and hands on experience with front-end web applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs
  • Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to e-commerce applications.
  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • A knack for writing clean, readable code
  • Able to work in an agile environment with a focus on continuous integration
