Title: SR Audio Visual Support Tech
Location: 770 Broadway 4th Floor, NYC  (9th street downtown, East VIllage SoHo)

The Sr. Audiovisual Support Technician is a customer facing role responsible for providing AV technical support, including setup, maintenance and troubleshooting, to customer locations. May serve as the lead or co-lead position in a site with multiple AV technicians or be the only position in a site with higher end technology.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides proactive and reactive support of all AV technologies and videoconferencing systems in conference rooms, training rooms, auditoriums and/or public spaces, as well as support of desktop video conferencing software.
  • Develops in-depth working knowledge/command of all AV and video conferencing systems, to include desktop video conferencing software.
  • Provides direct AV support to executives
  • Provides training to employees on the use of video conferencing technologies and conference room AV systems
  • Provides troubleshooting support for all AV and conference room technologies; facilities in-house resolution where possible. Consults with Team Lead for additional support when necessary
  • Perform and support the installation and configuration of AV systems and related technologies including: Cart Systems, rooms systems, rack building, cable management, hanging & installation of displays, speakers,cameras, microphones and other systems as needed as specified by SOW.
  • Mentors back-up support staff and/or other AV technicians as necessary to help develop their knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Assists with management of local inventory
  • Conducts regular conference room checks and AV system inspections. Resolves minor issues immediately, coordinates resolution of major issues, and forwards non-AV issues to the appropriate department for problem resolution. Reports all problems and resolutions to the Team Lead AV Operations Manager while also providing regular status reports
  • Provides feedback to the Team Lead for possible process or technology improvements
  • Coordinates with vendors, facilities staff and other trades AV and video conferencing vendors as required
  • May be required to travel to other Client sites
  • Assists with gathering requirements and site surveys
  • Assists with the creation of process and procedural user documentation.
  • Create and assist with the creation of systems, training and user documentation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • High School Diploma or equivelentequivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in support of AV and conferencing technologies in a fast-paced, customer oriented environment, in addition to advanced technologies and installation experience.
  • InfoComm CTS certification
  • InfoComm CTS-I certification at start or within 6 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of current audiovisual, audio conferencing, videoconferencing, and web conferencing technologies
  • Basic understanding of Project Management practices
  • Must be a self-starter, take initiative and possess analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Must possess a strong ability to multi-task
  • Environment demands a detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated individual
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a team of technicians, including sub-contractors, and manage work assignments to complete tasks on-time
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, a variety of governmental employees and officials, and the general public
  • Complete understanding of the implementation of AV systems
  • Knowledge of configuring, testing, operating, and maintaining video components including: Codecs, digital signage, IP TV and related equipment
  • Understanding of converged AV & IT environments
  • Minor experience in design of AV and VTC solutions
  • Must be able to read and comprehend architectural and engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Working knowledge of system security measures as they apply to AV/VTC/IT solutions in secure environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills
  • Familiarity with current Windows operating system (XP and 2000) and Mac OS
  • Familiarity with PC and MAC hardware
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
