This position requires proficiency in data mining, data analysis, reporting, creating and managing financial tools, and conducting research. The Analyst will play an active role in the problem solving aspect of sourcing engagements, sourcing alternatives, negotiation & messaging plan and developing supplier strategies.
  • Conduct research and analysis of industry, company, and customer data to support market assessment and identification of key strategic trends.
  • Perform quantitative analyses, including the development of complex financial models, to evaluate and implement strategic options.
  • Identify sourcing alternatives to current product/vendor/services leveraging current market trends
  • Monitor, organize, and report relevant industry news and current events to support competitive intelligence and assessment of new threats and opportunities arising in the marketplace.
  • Interface with other groups internally to collect and compile information in support of strategy development (e.g. Technical roadmaps, requirements, and demand forecasting).
  • Consolidate demand/forecast to develop sourcing plans based on vendor and vendor's sales cycle
  • Assist in developing senior management level presentations that are clear and concise and communicate strategic analysis and recommendations effectively.
  • Develop end to end strategic sourcing plan. The analyst leads / participates in the sourcing strategy formulation, supplier selection and supplier management process. Teams with Purchasing Project Managers / Subject Matter Experts (architecture, project management, service delivery, etc.) to create services sourcing strategies, coordinates requests for quotation (RFQ) in conjunction with Purchasing, creates and administers negotiation tools and processes for sourcing activities, prepares fact base for supplier negotiations and business reviews. Manages the implementation of the awarded supplier contract across all business units.
  • Creates and retains a package of all pertinent documentation created during the sourcing process
  • Participates as applicable, in the interaction with key suppliers' regional and global account teams. Participates in negotiations with suppliers during the sourcing review. Analyzes and reports on supplier performance metrics and conducts benchmarking studies.
  • Actively manages project timelines; communicates with team members and other stakeholders to ensure timely development of reports. Analyzes past spend as well as forecasts spend and savings by commodity/business units/locations.
  • Understanding of supply chain and TCO reduction opportunities. Participates in internal and joint supplier/unit teams pursuing TCO reduction opportunities in alignment with the Sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, demand management etc.).
  • Identify contract, licenses and pricing optimization opportunities. Implement and track cost saving initiatives
  • Sourcing Process Improvement. The analyst standardizes existing strategic sourcing systems and processes of data collection, analyses, warehousing, data management, etc. and makes the process more efficient.
  • Provide organizational and administrative support as needed
  • The position works with IT and the business stakeholders

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree from a top university with strong record of academic performance. Preferred majors are Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitative-focused degree.
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience required. Preferred background includes roles in management consulting, Strategy – Sourcing & Corporate, IT Services – Enterprise, Commercial and R&D solution, Infrastructure & Operations or other similar analytical data-driven function. Preferred industry experience includes cloud software, apps, digital media, or other high-tech industry background.
• Demonstrated project management ability to meet short deadlines and execute against competing or changing priorities as well as concurrent projects.
• Proven problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical abilities.
• Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
• Evidence of strong (financial) modeling skills and/or other quantitative analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (particularly advanced capabilities for Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
