JOB DESCRIPTION
Major Responsibility Areas (MRAs)
  • Resource functions as a project manager on a mid-sized SAP tax-related project involving multiple countries.
  • Accountable for the project scope delivered against specified objectives, standards, agreed timelines and allocated project budgets. The Project Manager will play a key role in developing high-level and detailed project plans and execute against the same.
  • Ensure project compliance, issues, actions, decisions and risks are continuously monitored and adequately communicated.
  • Accountable for the final deliverables and consistency of the project solution (quality, scope, budget).
  • Ensure regular and clear communication to align priorities of the stakeholders at local and global levels and across programs as well as verifying project goals can still be met.
  • Responsible for completing assignments in an accurate, timely and prioritized basis. Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and schedules work accordingly.
  • Develops and manages the plan for their segment of the project
  • Coordinates the work for and motivates other resources to meet project objectives
  • Identifies potential risks, issues, which may impede delivering on business requirements, bringing those issues to the attention of the IT PM and driving to resolution to obtain business results
  • Track program timelines, milestones and deliverables in alignment with the Project and Project Management guidelines
  • Work with internal and external resources to ensure successful implementation of project's rollouts of the tax-based solution.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Formal Education
  • BS or BA degree in science, engineering, project management, business administration or related areas is required. An MBA or other advanced degree qualification would be an advantage.

Specific Knowledge Requirements
  • Hands-on project management experience with a complex, large SAP implementation
    • Ten plus years of working experience including three years, which involves leading multidisciplinary project teams in a business information systems-related function.
  • Experience working with global project/ team members and not co-located.
  • Experience implementing SAP or related solutions as a PM, solution architect, team lead (functional or technical work-stream).
  • Experience with global supply chain.
  • Advanced and current use of business software (i.e., Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Outlook or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint, Dropbox or similar tools.
  • A proven record of accomplishment of accomplishment working with large scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is essential.
  • Strong business process knowledge and business process re-engineering experience is expected.

Other Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communications and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal, written) with non-technical business clients, IT professionals, senior management, and members of the executive committee.
  • Ability to work closely with the PMO in adherence to the defined project management methodology.
  • Ability to manage the day-to-day activities of the project's objectives.
  • Maintain and update project plans leveraging Microsoft Project and related application suites.
  • Ability to manage project trackers and status reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging customer engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer focused leadership in the delivery of technically complex solutions with highly skilled team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
