My direct client has an immediate need for a Front End Web Developer for a partial-remote position in Arlington, VA.

Job Type: 3+ Month Contract (likely getting extended)
Location: Partial Remote in Arlington, VA (Rosslyn)- 1-2 days work from home, 3-4 days on-site

Responsibilities primarily focus around building and maintaining the Web properties that my client uses to market it's products to US and worldwide consumers.

Day-to-day activities will involve:
  • Authoring and managing HTML, CSS and JS to provide engaging and persuasive experiences for customers on the web.
  • Coordinating and scheduling work with the marketing team to handle web campaign operations.
  • Managing some content through Liferay CMS.
  • Working with QA team to ensure consistent and stable experiences for customers on the web.
  • Working closely with the design team to ensure message/brand integrity.
  • Providing analysis and feedback on web experiences from a UX perspective.
Required Skills (Will likely be tested during interview):
  • Highly Proficient in CSS
  • Candidate must be familiar with how to achieve layout, typography, and style goals with CSS in a readable, modular and maintainable way.
  • Should be well-versed in managing CSS box model concerns and have at least a passing familiarity with flexbox.
  • Should have complete knowledge of how styles are applied to the DOM and know performance, maintainability and accessibility benefits and drawbacks of each.
  • Should have complete knowledge of media queries and other responsive concerns as they relate to CSS.
  • Should be familiar with style concerns as they relate to email templates.
Proficient in JavaScript
  • Candidate should be highly familiar with core JavaScript - how it works and how it applies to the DOM/UX without depending on any specific framework.
  • Should be able to control DOM elements, styles and properties in a maintainable and performant way.
  • Should be able to solve practical problems with JavaScript.
  • Should be familiar with basic UX performance concerns related to JS on the web.
  • Should be able to find and debug basic errors and exceptions with DevTools.
  • Implied by the previous requirements, but knowledge of HTML markup and how it realtes to the DOM is essential.
  • Candidate should have a basic understanding of SVG.
