Job Description: 
  • Manage all project test phases and testing activities (including leads and testers from all functional areas of testing), as applicable, including Test Estimates, Unit, Integration and System Testing, and Performance, Load and Stress Testing, and User Acceptance testing.
  • Review requirements, business and system use cases, technical specifications, test plans, test summary and testing deliverables provided to or by the testing team.
  • Develop the Requirements Ambiguity review.
  • Develop and complete the Test Strategy and Test Plan.
  • Coordinate the identification of Test data needs and timely test data preparation.
  • Coordinate with the Solution Architect and Technical Lead to manage the test environments.
  • Ensure the Test Cases and Test Scripts required to test all system interfaces are completed by assigned personnel on the testing team according to the project schedule.
  • Lead the activities of the testing team for Systems testing, Performance testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Work with Standards & QA Team to manage all test activities in Client ALM/Quality Center and in accordance with the Quality Gate Reviews.
  • Perform a formal System Test Readiness Review, UAT Test Readiness Review and GoLive Readiness Review.
  • Perform defect triage and resolution including recording details of test executions.
  • Report test status on a weekly basis - publish reports on Defect Management, Test Progress and Test Metrics, as directed.
  • Develop post-production quality metrics and participate in defect root cause analysis, lessons learned documents/meetings and project close out meeting.
 
Project Specific Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience leading testing programs including test strategy, test plans, requirements traceability, developing test schedules and resourcing testing teams.
  • Knowledge of applying Quality Assurance (QA) checkpoints to monitor and improve testing in real time.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, executing and overseeing testing programs for Web or SaaS based applications that involve complex IT systems, vendor supplied components and additionally require interfacing and integrating numerous internal and  external interfaces for legacy company IT systems.
  • Proven success leading and executing within a Web based application/UI environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and conducting testing programs for a project that includes both for traditional waterfall software development and also iterative / prototyping software development methodologies.
  • Experience with the Client Testing tools, including Client Quality Center, Client Performance Center, and Client Unified Functional Test.
  • Use of Team Foundation Server (TFS) to assign/manage tasks and reference requirements
  • Experience with Quick Test Professional test scripts and automation concepts
  • Ability to partner with a vendor Test Lead and collaboratively execute and oversee a successful testing program.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate effectively at weekly status meetings with the project.
  • Lead and/or participating in testing/development team meetings to review work as needed.
  • May assist in the actual writing and execution of test cases, as well as defect entry and dispositioning
Required Experience, Special Skills, Knowledge, Tools:
  • Minimum 10 - 15 years overall QA experience in a fast paced environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a successful multi-person testing team
  • ALM/Quality Center; TFS; Web and UI Testing; SOA/EIA layer
  • Must have successfully delivered a medium-large project (complexity and dollars)
  • Led a medium-large group of testers (organized and assigned work)
  • Understands and can produce testing analytics created through Quality Center
Additional Skills and Traits:
  • Experience testing Web Services or Applications Containing/Using Web Services
  • Excellent Time Management Skills
  • A background interfacing with users in Business Acceptance and User Acceptance Testing
  • Familiarity and experience working with various SDLC methodologies and participating in all aspects of project life cycles
  • Mobile Device Testing, Test Automation, Agile/SCRUM
  • Knowledge of Metering Software, Customer Billing, Utility Rates, Safety, Windows 10, DB2 and data validation.  
Experience Preferred:
  • Certification in Software Testing
  • Electric Utility industry experience
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Information Technology or closely related disciplines.
