This position is for a highly-motivated individual with experience in design, development and implementation of various software projects/applications. Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with other team members are required. An ideal candidate would possess working knowledge of Oracle Weblogic Server and associated scripting, proficiency with Java, and familiarity with Oracle BI Publisher. Position is based in Chicago, IL at S&C's world headquarters, within the Grid Reliability Solutions department.
The Grid Reliability Solutions team provides 24/7 performance monitoring for a variety of devices on power systems around the world. This position would support the Cloud platform for performance monitoring, as well as other software tools to support the team and grow the business. It is a small team of software engineers – you'll be able to make an impact on design and have ownership of development. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Support operation and maintenance of the company's Performance Monitoring Cloud platform
  • Design, develop, and implement software enhancements to company Performance Monitoring
  • Documentation of companyPerformance Monitoring platform, including O&M practices
  • Follow best development practices and able to work in an agile environment.
  • Work with other developers and technicians to define software specifications for new features.
  • Have a proactive approach to improve the application with every iteration.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
  • BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Weblogic Server.
  • Proficiency with Java, Java EE, Javascript, C++.
  • Familiarity with web development technologies, like APEX or other
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle Database.
  • Self-motivated in getting the tasks completed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Relevant Experience Required:
Knowledge of Oracle Weblogic and Java programming skill.
