The Business Development Manager plays a critical role in the support and development of new business opportunities.
They will manage a Client support team and work closely with the senior Client team, while gaining increased opportunities to exercise sound judgment and take ownership of projects. The Client Manager will align their efforts with the wider goal of the Business Development team to identify new leads and secure new clients, and to nurture opportunities for further growth among new and existing business. They will have a proactive, solutions-based approach, and feel confident making recommendations to senior management, as well as asking for guidance where appropriate At all times they will live the client's six core values, and work to build their critical thinking as they become more seasoned in the role.

Job Functions
  • Support the Client team to develop winning proposals, RFIs, and RFPs, through: High-quality design of documents
  • Developing creative assets
  • Brainstorming and generating tactics
  • Conducting research
  • Strong writing skills to support RFIs and RFP responses, and developing proposals (with support/input from MDs of Business Development and/or client service leaders)
  • Coordinating, briefing and managing colleagues from other teams whose input is needed
  • Developing pitch timetables and plans, in accordance with agreed Client processes (e.g. Pitching To Win)
  • Effectively facilitating brainstorms by providing clear briefs; inviting critical individuals
  • Helping with pitch logistics and attending as needed, either in support role or to present
  • Developing scopes of work (to be then priced by Project Management team) Creation of 'pitch theater' assets Manage and develop
  • Business Development assets, including but not limited to capabilities presentations; case studies; videos and all support materials.
  • Provide design support for thought leadership assets developed by Client MD and others Support marketing efforts by: Collaborating with marketing on lead generation programs and event management leading award coordination and submission (with marketing) developing newsletters for external distribution Identifying relevant conferences for Client team to attend and supporting as needed
  • Representing at industry networking events
  • Develop management skills by: Managing and tracking Client support team work flow on a weekly basis
  • Occasionally supporting the Client MD in feeding updates into pipeline documents
  • Successfully identifying, onboarding and managing interns
  • Building a pipeline of interns (working with HR)

Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in General Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Combination of experience and education accepted.
  • Min of 3-4 years in similar client facing role(s).
  • Ability to work autonomously, but comfortable with hands on management
  • Adept in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite a plus but not required
  • Good analytical and IT documentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
