Job Description: i5 Administrator

Under the direction of the i5 Sr. Systems Manager, individual will have responsibility for the i5 systems supporting WMS/OMS processing for multiple business partners. These responsibilities include supporting: break fix, day-to-day operations and availability, O/S patches and upgrades, security and audit compliance, workload management consultation and support, and working with i5 team for coverage and support activities for the environment. Activities to be supported for multiple i5 systems and LPARs include:

Job Duties:

•   IBM Power systems administration and support

•   Responsible for system operations during a designated shift

•   Monitor job activity and respond to problems accordingly
•   Complete code promotes as required via Aldon ACMS
•   Perform save and restore procedures as required
•   Identify and evaluate all workload on the system on an ongoing basis, and make appropriate changes to job attributes and system parameters to optimize performance
•   Support and consult with developers, i5 Senior Manager, and i5 team on workload management best practices, tuning, and implementation
•   Support hardware upgrades and break fix as needed in the remote data centers, coordinating with i5 Senior Manager, IBM CE's, and IBM Business Partner.
•   Provide off-shift and on-call support as required
•   Monitor the QSYSOPR message queue and respond appropriately.
•   Monitor system status
•   Monitor the high availability mirroring package
•   Supporting capacity planning and performance tuning
•   Travel to data centers as required
•   Provide technical supports & upgrades for TN5250, iSeries Navigator and other components for IBM Client Access
•   Security Compliance
•   Responsible for maintaining SOX/SAS70/PCI compliance within established policies
•   Maintain required SOX/SAS70/PCI documentation
•   Create and maintain System level user profiles
•   Create and maintain Application level user profiles
•   Create and maintain security templates within OMS/WMS applications
•   Assist the Systems Manager in security planning and implementation
•   Work closely with developers on problem resolution, library management, and code promotes
•   Administrative/Professional
•   Assure cleanliness and organization of all areas under control
•   Maintain detailed manual, checklist, and code promote documents
•   Plan and perform special projects as required
•   Keep accurate records on timekeeping of various saves and tape rotation
•   Keep accurate records on incidents, problems and resolutions
•   Support continuous process and automation improvements to improve service levels and efficiency
•   Guide, train, instruct, and assist others at peer and/or lower levels on technical, process knowledge, and incident resolution on the i5 Platform
•   Complete time reporting accurately and promptly
