Lead and responsible for daily system administration and management of the overall technical systems including servers, infrastructure assets, data, backups, redundancy, and circuits.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
  • Plans for server migrations and leads implementations including design, documentation, creating diagrams, taking screenshots, collecting approvals, and noting current-state configurations before each migration.
  • Effectively interacts with IT colleagues to learn technical information regarding a problem. Diagnoses and resolves issues of various complexity on multiple systems.
  • Installs, configures, and supports servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and applications that comprise the company's information systems platform as requested. Recommends policies and documents configurations for servers, workstations, network infrastructure, and application support for region. Manages all servers in all environments.
  • Provides direct and indirect training, technical assistance, and guidance for IT staff.
  • Maintains and regularly audits application, server, security, error, windows, and other log systems. Honors confidentiality of passwords at the system and user levels.
  • Benchmarks key performance indicators as they relate to hardware and software under direct control of the position and recommends or makes changes for optimal performance.
  • Coordinates and implements a Disaster Recovery Plan. Records all activities and events during the exercises for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains a system to track server hardware and software inventory and coordinates with the appropriate IT personnel. Assists in maintenance of the IT data repository.
  • Develops and maintains IT operations policies and procedures, which directly relate to this position as assigned by IT management.
  • Demonstrates value-added participation and management of assigned tasks / projects. Gives accurate status on projects. Performs technical lead on either IT projects or on the IT components of peripheral projects.
  • Serves as primary LAN/WAN Administrator. Serves as backup Network Engineer. Trains junior systems administrators on best practices of system administration including monitoring configuration, server patching, Group Policy Objects configuration, Active Directory administration (DNS, DHCP, ADSI Edit, Sites and Services), anti-virus administration, and Office365 administration.
