The details of the position are:
Electronics Engineering Technician

Role:
  • Printed circuit board fabrication, troubleshoot, and rework.
  • Wire harness development, fabrication, and installation. Instrumentation.
  • Inspection, test, and failure analysis of defective electronic assemblies.
  •  Mark-up schematics based on troubleshooting and test findings.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite support to install and verify new HIL units or Perform modifications, upgrades or troubleshooting for existing systems.
  • This can include cabinets, load boxes, power supplies, IO channels, communications networks, PCs and displays.
  • Components to be designed and sourced by client.
  • Construct wire harnesses, load boxes or test benches in support of HIL units or EEG needs.
  • Provide real-time support and where needed troubleshoot and correct electrical issues on HIL simulators or EEG Test benches as required to maintain operational readiness.
  • For HIL systems, this includes documentation of findings and root cause for potential warranty follow up with suppliers.
  • Update HIL systems with new software from ETAS as releases are made and approved for integration.
  • Support onsite during startup, testing and validation of new and modified HIL systems.
  • Provide electrical troubleshooting, modification and corrective actions as required.
  • Support Systems and Software Engineering teams with various software support needs – this can include test bench configuration and testing, product development concept and feasibility trials, and general support for production software issue investigation and corrective action.
Requirements:
  • Electronics Technical Degree or commensurate experience is required
  • Ability to self-manage moderately complex and simultaneous priorities from different stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, design component layouts and fabricate cables and assemblies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent communicator
  • Strong time management & organizational skills Desired Skills & Experience
  • 3 years of experience as an electronics and computer technician installing and supporting moderately complex hardware/software systems with embedded controls.
  • Experience building and maintaining Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing simulators and systems – vehicle systems preferred.
  • Experience with computer and software program maintenance and troubleshooting.
