The details of the position are:

ASC Facilities Engineer

  • Plans, coordinates and performs facilities project and maintenance engineering work for facility infrastructure, production equipment and processes of moderate to large scope.
  • Operates in a team environment. Assigns, coordinates and reviews the work of support and contract personnel. Provides project and supply management for projects of limited scope.
  • Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.
  • Provides engineering design for the infrastructure for the facility, grounds and production equipment and processes through both internal and external resources.
  •  Projects are more complex and require integration and coordination of various engineering disciplines. Provides project management of projects related to the facility infrastructure, production machines, equipment and processes that support the manufacturing and/or distribution operation.
  • Projects are more complex and may integrate several areas of engineering and require limited management of outside design professionals and contractors.
  • Provides troubleshooting of the facility infrastructure and production equipment to support production, manufacturing, distribution and maintenance operations.
  • Responds to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing and/or distribution operations. Maintains project budget cost control on projects assigned through project cost control system for the unit.
  • Provides life, safety and building code analysis and supports and implements programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Assists in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards. Researches market for qualified suppliers of materials and services.
  • Seeks competitive and negotiated sources for materials, equipment and services for maintenance and new construction projects assigned to engineer.
  • Prepares purchase orders for management approval.
  • Provide technical guidance and coordinate with the work of internal resources, external design professionals, and construction contractors from concept through implementation for your own projects or in support of other project managers.
  • Perform analysis, make design decisions, and provide proposals for solutions to facility engineering issues at multiple factories.
  • Support or lead execution of projects including material handling devices, building additions, office remodeling, dock additions, spill containment, environmental compliance, manufacturing equipment moves, and other projects not listed.
  • Support or lead value engineering efforts to produce a costeffective designs.
  • Communicate and ensure a collaborative environment with high performance teamwork with leadership, maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, environmental staff, supply management, facilities staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Provide life, safety and building code analysis on facilities projects and support and implement programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses. Assist in the identification and resolution of potential environmental, safety, ergonomic and health hazards.
  • Coordinate with internal Supply Management to develop project sourcing strategy and research market for qualified suppliers of materials and services. Prepare purchase requisitions for management approval.
  •  5+ years of experience with site and building Civil, Architectural, and/or Structural Engineering infrastructure systems and facilities design.
  • Demonstrated multi-discipline project management experience on capital expenditure projects focusing on schedule, budget and quality expectations with the ability to prioritize multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in procuring and coordinating multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives.
  • Experience with computer aided design.
  • Experience procuring, coordinating, or working with multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives. Desired Skills, Knowledge & Relevant.
  • Registration as a licensed professional engineer, architect, or equivalent.
  • Formal project management training and PMP Certificate (Project Management Professional).
  • Knowledge of construction industry project delivery methods, controls, and construction contract management.
  • Cross competency experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, Supply Management, Environmental, and Maintenance Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Safety standards, quality and environmental laws, regulations and goals. Experience with applying industrial facilities systems infrastructure design principles in or to support a manufacturing environment.
  • Education (Specific Branch of Study, Certificate).
  •  Degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering ( University 4 yr. degree) Special Considerations (Shift, Off Hours, Support, Travel, etc.)Work is primarily first shift, but there will be a need to provide occasional support on off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by project work.
