Position Details:
Role: Sr. Manager – SAP SOM; MM; WM
Duration: Full-time/direct hire position with full-benefits
Location: Waltham MA, Towson, MD or New Britain CT
Position Summary:

The SOM & MM Global Application Services Manager reports to the VP Tier 1 ERP. The role of is to direct and control the delivery of Sales Order Management, Material Management, Logistics and Warehouse Management SAP functionality in support of all the global Business Units and the Corporate functions.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Directs the Sales Order Management and Material Management, Logistics and Warehouse Management Application Services SAP teams in delivery of projects on a global basis according to IT's Solution Framework.
  • Demand/Supply management to meet agreed business requirements including sourcing of resources from 3rd party delivery partners.
  • Propose / Recommend SAP strategic designs & solutions consistent with establishing a global SAP template across multiple SAP platforms.
  • Provide Application Services input to support cross-functional project design and delivery.
  • Recommend solutions and designs that maximize the business benefit of IT.
  • Review requirement proposals with Business Services to ensure effective solutions are defined and agree delivery timelines.
  • Contribute to the design of the Corporate Function strategic initiatives that relate to or impact SAP.
  • Identify opportunities for business improvement by highlighting options to deliver operating efficiencies.
  • Influences individuals within and outside the IT department.
  • Prepares and presents reports to all levels of leadership.
  • Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.
  • Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.
  • Communicate and translate vision/strategy to staff.




Required Skills & Experience
Knowledge:
  • Possesses expert knowledge, skills and abilities required to resolve the most/highly complex IT issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple domains.
  • Clearly understands short and long-term business goals and objectives and ability to align IT direction with those objectives.
  • Experienced in coaching and mentoring both team members and business partners.
  • Understands business vision, the strategic direction, and the impact technology can have on these priorities.

Experience:
  • Minimum 13+ years' SAP experience in SD, MM, LE and WM modules with demonstrable record of delivery in these SAP functional areas.
  • 6-9 Years Leadership Experience
  • Managed multi-national diverse teams working on a global delivery basis.
  • Demonstrates creative, strategic thinking and problem solving; able to exercise independent judgment in a highly complex environment.
  • Track record of delivering creative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Strong formal communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience of working at all level. Understanding requirements as presented, define solutions and hand off for delivery by On-shore or Off-shore teams.
  • Have delivered multiple SAP projects covering full-lifecycle, global template roll-out within multi-national and multi-currency environments
  • Adept at learning, understanding and applying new technologies & methodologies to solve challenging business problems
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of one of more of: Sales Order Management, Logistics and Purchasing business areas.
  • Staff management including appraisals and development planning
  • Knowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills.

Education
  • Undergraduate degree and 13+ years relevant experience, or
  • Graduate degree and 10-12 years relevant experience.
