Business Technology (IT) Portfolio Program Manager

Project (Information Systems) Mgr: Plans and coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like. Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Job Description
The Business Technology (IT) Portfolio Program Manager position will be responsible for improving the portfolio programs within Client BT by tracking, analyzing, reporting and maturing the project portfolio and related processes. This is a key role in a growing organization that is actively investing in its Portfolio Management capability. This role will play a key part in defining and managing the annual planning process across the department and then tracking progress against goals. Success in this role means Business Technology is aligned with and investing in Client's most pressing strategic priorities and is able to report on the outcome of those investments.

The role requires someone with strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge and exposure to a broad range of enterprise program management and portfolio principles, and with specific skills managing, analyzing, and reporting on IT investment spend and related value. This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, is detailed oriented, and has solid skills with spreadsheets, slides, and reporting tools. Must have a solid analytical mindset and be comfortable presenting to senior leadership. You should enjoy a team setting where your success depends heavily on building relationships across the organization.

Description
Help run and improve annual planning processes as well as ongoing monthly and quarterly processes
Facilitate the alignment of business strategy with the organization's budget and program execution
Define and build dashboards for executive consumption, while bringing in data from different systems
Track and analyze finances, portfolio health and performance, and portfolio value capture and analysis
Facilitate portfolio governance to provide project approvals and to ensure that project financial projections meet the required guidance, expectations and financial policies
Contribute to the methodology and execution of overall portfolio business processes, including value capture
Ensure that the portfolio accomplishes and can report on its value goals, including quantifiable hard and soft benefits, in a consistent, reliable and timely manner

Responsibilities
Maintain and mature portfolio management processes within the Business Technology department
Perform portfolio and financial analyses and recommend courses of action to optimize the portfolio and its processes
Apply best practices to processes and reporting
Maintain data quality and completeness across the portfolio, including chasing data owners for updates and identifying and fixing data quality issues
Manage portfolio update processes and regular reporting to management
Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting on portfolio health
Mature and improve dashboards and processes across the portfolio
Liaise with Business Technology and Business Finance managers and staff; very strong collaboration across the organization from project managers to senior leadership
Participate in the development and management of annual planning processes including template preparation, training, data collection and related reporting on planning progress
Develop processes, templates and tracking for portfolio value capture, and work directly with project teams, project business owners, Finance managers and others to develop metrics and reports for portfolio value

Qualifications:
Knowledge of portfolio management in a project delivery environment
Knowledge of project/program management principles. Ability to plan, execute, and improve processes
− Excellent Excel/GSheet spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create complex financial reporting and tracking for a portfolio of 100+ projects
− Solid PowerPoint/GSlide skills, including the ability to take complex data and simplify it for decision making
Knowledge of PPM tools and project governance processes
− Sound business and financial acumen
- Strong organizational, planning and people leadership skills
− Robust interpersonal skill, including ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
− Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all organizational levels
− Ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment where priorities can change quickly
− Excellent analytic and problem-solving skill and ability to identify win-win solutions
− Strong facilitation, teaming, influencing, collaboration, and negotiation skills
− Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and/or equivalent work experience required
− 4 - 6 years of hands-on Project Portfolio management experience in a technology organization

Must haves: Experience in Portfolio management background looking at large group of projects and reporting out on the health of the projects; Well versed in basic project management best practices and understand what metrics to report back on;

MUST BE an advanced user of Excel and strong PowerPoint skills.
