Technical IT Project Manager

Job Overview:
The Technical IT Project Manager will define and validate project scope which includes: needs analysis, identifying project priorities, requirements and deliverables. The Technical IT Project Manager will follow existing standards, delivery processes, roles and responsibilities to assist in managing infrastructure business improvement projects. The Technical IT Project Manager will manage projects by using standard PMI methodology and Agile/SAFe methodologies. The Technical IT Project Manager will manage stakeholder relationships and ensure support and alignment to IT departmental roadmaps. The Technical IT Project Manager will manage project costs, risks, forecasting, and change management, including CapEx and OpEx, expenditures.

Principle Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assist in project scope definition and business requirements gathering
  • Create project plan and schedule
  • Assess risks - identify risks to project success
  • Define metrics – identify measures for success related to delivery of the projecte
  • Manage project delivery process
  • Manage stakeholders and communications
  • Communicate lessons learned, meeting minutes, project charts, project timelines, and best practices to project stakeholders
  • Request approval for changes for IT projects
  • Responsible for Project Review meetings to the Manager, Program Management

Required Knowledge / Skill
  • Prior infrastructure experience in networking/data center
  • Prior experience in project managing complex IT infrastructure and software development objectives
  • Solid understanding of information systems, Active Directory, networking, and telecommunications
  • Experience with creating and managing large project plans
  • Experience with administration and development of enterprise-class projects/programs
  • Proficient with the SDLC (systems development lifecycle) and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
  • High proficiency with verbal and written communications

Required Experience / Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent certification
  • 4+ years in Information Technology project management
  • Proven skills in technical writing and effective communications

Preferred Experience / Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years in Infrastructure as an IT Project Manager
  • PMI PMP or similar certification
  • Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise)

Working conditions:
  • Weekly project review meeting with IT Program Manager
  • Intermittent travel between offices may be required (15%)
