Communications Manager

Job Description :
Client is looking to find support for two specific areas of the Executive Communications function: content development and operations management.

This person will draft content and create presentations, develop messaging, and manage speaking opportunities on an adhoc basis. They will also maintain and manage communications tools, such as Sharepoint and Google Drive, and manage the speaker approval process on the Salesforce platform.

Responsibilities and Deliverables
Content Development
● Draft and/or edit pitches/proposals and abstracts, often in collaboration with agency team
● Work directly with executives and business partners to develop messaging and presentations
● Work with creative agency and other partners to design presentations and other visuals assets
● Ensure content is audience- and event-specific, and aligns to eBay narratives
● Create and execute plans for specific speaking events
● Collaborating with other members of the Comms team, identify opportunities for 360-degree communications approach
● Working with agency, manage quality of executive briefing documents
● Coordinate with event organizer to ensure successful speaking engagement

Communications Operations
● Ensure version control and maintain a healthy archive by carefully managing content and uploading to Google Drive, organizing as needed
● Manage employee speaker approval process on the Salesforce platform
● Maintain relationship with key stakeholders: Investor Relations for weekly reports; Employee Comms for regular comms to employees
● Ensure process is working properly, following up with employees/approvers as needed

Executive Support
● Occasionally provide onsite executive support for speaking engagements

Preferred Industry Background
● Knowledge and/or understanding of e-commerce
● Global corporation experience
● High-tech industry background preferred

Nice-to-Have Functional Background
● Expertise in Technology, Fashion and/or Motors/P&A (priority verticals)
● Extended knowledge of top-tier retail and tech events and/or publications
● Client-specific experience highly desired

Required Skills and Attributes
● Proven experience working with executives and/or thought leaders on internal and external communication programs
● Solid writer and editor with proven track record of success creating compelling content, including presentations, videos, executive briefings, etc.
● Strong project management skills
● Excellent verbal and written communications skills
● Exceptional presentation development skills, strong PowerPoint and Google Slides skills and speech writing ability
● Both a strong team player and an independent worker
● Strong executive influence skills/content development skills; ability to develop content in collaboration
● Proven ability to build relationships across a diverse organization, fostering trust and credibility

Additional Information :
10+ years of experience
Undergrad degree required, no exception
