Patent Paralegal

The Patent and Innovation Strategies Group has an immediate opening for a Patent Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of U.S. patent prosecution experience (candidates with more experience will also be considered).

The responsibilities of this candidate include but are not limited to the following:
* Calculate patent term adjustments pre- and post-issuance
* Conduct searches, extract data from searches, and organize data from searches with minimal direction
* Familiar with CPI, United States Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Application Information Retrieval system, and other patent related databases
* Familiar with CFR and MPEP
* Manage IDS related projects and tasks
* Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements
* Monitor competitors' patent activities domestically and abroad
* Maintain electronic files
* Prepare budgets and cost estimates for clients
* Prepare patent family trees
* Prepare due diligence charts and track documents
* Prepare status reports

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, flexible, results-oriented, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, and strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate also possesses the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced team environment. Knowledge of CPI and/or other calendaring systems is preferred. Occasional overtime work may be necessary. A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.
