Alluvion is currently hiring for a Logistics Operations Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in Jacksonville, FL.
 
Position Summary
The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading a team that is focused on executing transportation services in support of our Transportation Branch Operations.  Responsibilities include working closely with other departments within the Branch to provide effective and optimal transportation solutions for our customers. (Team of 3)
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Assign and delegate workload to the team. Motivate and set daily pace for team members.
·         Oversee and supervise all day to day operations of the assigned team.
·         Multi Task between accounts while keeping a high accuracy rate.
·         Build relationships with customers through daily communication. Secure equipment, plan, assign, and contract and execute drayage providers and rail routes effectively.
·         Write, Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for each Customer Account.
·         Sell and manage the modal services direct to new and existing customers.
·         Determine the best means for transportation with the aim of driving cost savings to customers.
·         Respond to customer inquiries on the telephone, through on-line networks, or email.
·         Serve as contact for the branch regarding problem resolution, rate and negotiations if needed.
·         Track specified loads while in transit and for delivery to meet customer service expectations.
·         Ensure accurate invoice billing of all loads to the customer.
·         Work in all customer web sites based on service expectations.
·         Manipulate large amounts of data accurately with tight deadlines in a high stress environment.
·         Develop and maintain relevant key performance indicators for own area of responsibility.
·         Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.
 
Supervisory Responsibility
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, assisting and directing daily workload; assisting with appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  This position will have a minimum of 2-6 direct report employees.  This position will be required to conduct performance reviews and make recommendations on corrective action, as well as hiring or termination recommendations to the Branch Manager
 
Education and Experience
·         Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of related experience in transportation, sales, management or operations. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
·         Prior customer service experience in the Transportation Industry.
·         Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written)
·         Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and leadership (internally and externally).
·         Solid computer skills including MS Word and Outlook. Ability to learn proprietary software applications.
·         Pro-active and solutions-oriented demeanor.
