Alluvion Staffing is currently recruiting for a Brokerage Sales Manager for our client in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is a Direct Hire opportunity.

We are looking for someone who comes with freight brokerage experience, Strong skills in communication, negotiation, organization, and multi-tasking.

Position Summary   
The OTR Brokerage Carrier Manager is responsible for sourcing truck capacity, pricing the cost and executing Over-the-Road truck freight movements. This position works in direct tandem with Account Managers, who maintain positive account relationships, solicit volume, enter tenders and communicate shipment status to customers. Other supporting departments include Sales, Pricing, Motor Carrier Safety and Compliance and Carrier Procurement, Finance, Administration and Human Resources.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities      
  • Creates, maintains and develops relationships with outside carriers in the over the road transportation industry
  • Negotiates rates with carriers using industry tools and a well-rounded knowledge of market pricing and pay rates in a high paced and dynamic environment
  • Manages and works with sales and pricing to provide formal responses to Requests For Proposals (RFP)
  • Collaborates with Account Managers and Carrier Compliance
  • Performs initial carrier vetting (i.e.: safety) and manages service execution
  • Responsibilities over freight payments
  • Problem resolution and status inquiries
  • Updating of customer orders/date requirements via phone, fax, email or other media
  • Best use of judgment that balances customer needs
  • Manages and updates TMS timely and accurately on load notes, pricing and accessorial fee's
 
Education and Experience 
  • Associates degree, plus one or more years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be teachable and eager to learn.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows operating system and be proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Browser).  Must be able and motivated to learn our Transportation Management System; experience with MercuryGate is desirable, but not a requirement.
