Alluvion Staffing is seeking a Business Systems Analyst (w2 only) for an immediate long term contract opportunity.


The team is standing up a vendor solution. Really need someone with excellent communication skills because they will be communicating with a number of technical teams. Good understanding of process to set up new infrastructures is a plus. prefer local candidates to interview in-person. 

The IT Business Systems Analyst will collect and analyze information to formulate the scope and objectives of technology solutions. Writes system and programming specifications so that when the system is implemented it will meet user needs. Provides input into cost estimations and project plans. Prepares and maintains technical documentation including flow charts, models, and procedures, user guides, scorecards and reporting to assist with the ongoing operation and maintenance of technology solutions. Assigned to complex projects, systems or initiatives.
  •  Analyzes business requirements to determine technical requirements and identifies impacted areas/systems/processes and evaluates alternative solutionsResearches and assists in designs solutions for general maintenance requests to resolve system problemsPrepares detailed system requirements and assists in functional design solutions for new products/functionality and enhancements to existing products/functionality
  • Provide oversight and final review of design specificationTake the initiative to seek out areas of improvementAssigned to highly complex projects, systems or initiativesProvides input into forecasting and project-planning for scope/requirements documents and/or vendor contracts to minimize risk to on time, cost effective solution fulfillment.Leads a systematic process for capturing requirements. Works with partners to capture requirements in a standard format that can serve as the foundation for developing technical documentation.
  • Using SDLC processes and associated tools, analyzes current system targeted for replacement/enhancement to determine business and technical functions to be included in design.Works with Developers and other IT staff to determine system components and functional flow of components and data between components.Creates detailed program specifications from which a developer can code.Validates the design documentation with the appropriate parties and receives approval on these documents. Reviews final design documents to ensure that they clearly explain the work expectations.Clarifies design expectations. Answers business and technical questions. Researches and involves appropriate parties to resolve more complex business and technical issues.
  • Continuously assesses systems as business direction changes for impacts to existing designs. Understands impacts and works as appropriate to determine best solution.Provide consultative support for the systems within their product familyPartner with developers and other IT staff to ensure the design fulfills business and technical requirementsResponsible for relationship management responsibilities for assigned vendorsPrepare technical documentation and deliverables including flow charts, models, and procedures, user guides, scorecards and reporting.Ensures adherence to practices, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Develops test scenarios & test cases, performs test executions for various system components.Prepares complex test strategies to ensure comprehensive coverage of system components and interfaces, provides SME level expertise and recommends test strategies and scenarios for junior level analysts.
  • Develops and documents vetted contingency plans in case of risks or roadblocksResponsible for consensus and relationship building between Business, IT teams and BRMsOther duties as assignedWork with other IT teams to establish environment for new software/technology stack
  • Requirements:
  • 3 or more years of work experience in a systems analysis role or equivalent combination of transferrable experience and education.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experienceThorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systemsDemonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of integration points of assigned business/systems and processesProven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertivenessProficient in requirements gathering methodologies and the SDLCUnderstanding of a variety of architecture standards and ability to apply them in their design workAbility to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilitiesAbility to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performanceAbility to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiencesAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing environmentHigh critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of systems, subsystems, development methodologies, systems architecture, tools and processes that support the assigned business initiative or system. 
  • Preferred:
    • Experience using Agile methodology
    • Knowledge of healthcare insurance industry
    • Working with other IT teams to set up new IT infrastructure
    • Creating technical diagrams and documentations
