Alluvion staffing is currently recruiting for a Medical Office assistant in the Fernandina Fl area.
Pay $10.50-13hr
Check In:
  • Greet patients and all other visitors to the office
  • Notify patients if their physician is expected to be late to the office
  • Obtain patient information and/ or ensure all patient information (demographics, pharmacy etc.) is current
  • Scan all required information (insurance cards, etc.) as required.
  • Create new patient charts (in the computer) if needed.
  • Verify appropriate referrals with managed care (HMO) patients; confirm our physicians are participating with
    the patients insurance.
  • Obtain required co-pays from patients
  • Document patients encounter number and co-pay on fee ticket.
  • Notify nurse that patient has arrived and is waiting to be seen.
Check Out:
  • Schedule Return patient appointments as necessary
  • Verify office charges, diagnosis and physician signature on fee ticket and/or HER
  • Record money collected on day sheets
  • Obtain required co-insurance from patients
  • Print any pertinent information as necessary
  • Total day sheets, fee tickets and cash received, ensuring both balance appropriately. Sign off on completed
    day sheets
  • Secure cash after each office schedule according to cash security policy
  • Refer all patients financial requests to the financial counselor or the business office
  • Scan all necessary paperwork into batches
Other Functions:
  • Must have the training and ability to answer any questions from patients/visitors.
  • Answer incoming calls, handle appropriately, i.e. schedule appointments, direct calls to appropriate
  • Must be capable to schedule patient appointments with any clinic physician, regardless of location
  • Must be knowledgeable in the clinic's various insurance plans
  • Ensure message is sent to appropriate nurse (EHR 4-point check)
  • Distribute all incoming faxes as necessary
  • Distribute all incoming mail as necessary
  • Print and copy all physician transcription
  •  Other duties assigned
